Echo plus with hue bridge.

Hi all,

Bought my first echo and it's the plus one.
I have just bout a coloured hue bulb which is not installed yet, but I have also got a hue bridge which I have read u still bead to use the coloured light to the full potential? Is this correct filiast of all and will alexa still respond to it when set up via the hue app because my free light which came with it was set up to the alexa app and when I connected my hue app to it, the bulb won't work with alexa? Really struggling with this and why has this happened? When set the coloured light up, do I set it up with hue app so gets the full potential, but will alexa work with it?

I wish I could help but I don't have the hue bridge, only the echo plus. I do know you only get limited control without the hue bridge.
