Echo while on the phone.

Hi

When I have been on the phone the person on the other end of the call have complained about an echo.

The volume is at the lowest it can go but still people say there is an echo.

Has anybody had this before? Do you think the device is faulty? Do you think I need a replacement?

First of all, did this start suddenly? Or has it always been a problem?
Do you have a case or cover on the phone?
How are you holding the phone? Is the microphone (on the bottom of the phone) held reasonably close to your mouth?
Have you experimented with how you hold your phone and how close you hold the microphone end do your mouth? Try holding the phone close to the bottom and using your hand to kinda funnel the sound toward the microphone.

First heard of this a few months ago and has gradually got more frequent with more people saying.
I do not have a case over the phone.
I will try and experiment with the advice that you have given me but not sure if it will be this as it is the person on the other end that can hear the echo of their own voice?
