Echoing with case on Skyrocket

I started a thread (link below) at the end of March about having issues with my Skyrocket while using the Otter Box Commuter case. People I talk to sometimes hear themselves echo while I have no problems at all on my end. I've really become frustrated because I love everything about this phone except for this one problem and I'm starting to consider getting something else, such as the One X or the GSIII this summer. Any advice?

Does it happen without the case? If not - you might want to try a different case or look and see if perhaps the noise canceling mic is being covered by the case. An awl might make a nice small hole to correct the problem.

Just a thought.

No, I have not noticed it without the case on. I'm worried that using a different case will just cause the same problem. The noise suppression is turned off, btw. The hole above the mics seem to be in the right place, so I don't understand why this is happening. I may just have to deal with it until I can find another case that works. Thanks.

Most cases come in easy open/close boxes. Ask the clerk if you can try the one you like before buying it. I know our local re-seller's will do this as will our nearby VZW Store. This way you can make a quick call to a fiend and ask... "Can you hear me now?" <<groan>> Sorry - I could not help my self.

But seriously, ask to try the case first. Most will let you.

Well the thing is it doesn't always echo. I guess I'll just have to try several times with different cases and see what happens.

I just ordered the OB Impact series case. It is all rubber and not nearly as bulky so surely that will prevent the echo problem.

Sounds Good! But according to me, those problem doesn't occurs through Otterbox. Might be there is something problem either with the network carrier or else some other thing. Please do check it. I am also using the same mobile and i use various kind of otterbox with lot of designs and colors, and i don't find any problem regarding this.

Not sure if it's relevant but since I'm about to buy a Skyrocket, I've noticed echo on a rare occasion with my iPhone and it's clearly a network thing. Not sure if you're with ATT though I don't hear it often. I doubt it's the case causing the problem, but you never know!

Hope you're enjoying the SR and making the transition to Andriod. I LOVE the fact that this community is so supportive and there are no limits to what you can create with the Andriod platform either!
