Ed04?

Verizon tried to give me a Droid X - lasted for 3 days. 7 missed calls, so no better than before. Back to my fascinate, actually seems better plus I like this phone WAY more. This is the reason I got it in the first place.

Offered me one too, no thanks.................

I already have ED01 on ComRom 2.0. was wondering if I can just flash the ED01 to ED04 patch?

I've read in the XDA thread where people tried to do that, still had problems with call connectivity, followed the steps outlined in the thread and flashed the DL09 modem file in ODIN then the DL09 to ED04 zip file in CWM, and now have improved call connectivity. I would recommend following the steps. It takes all of 10 minutes, doesn't require a data wipe, and if you're lucky like me, you don't lose root either.

Worked perfectly. Wasnt having issues on ED01, just wanted the newest modem.
Baseband is ED04 and Build number is ED01. this is correct. unless I wipe back to stock and do OTA to update Build?

If you plan on staying stock, sure, but if you flash a custom ROM such as UKB or others, your build will revert back to ED01

Flashing the modem alone will cause the root to go away?

I did the ED01 to ED04 patch and really did not notice any of the connection issues.. In following the other thread in XDA they noted that you really don't notice the connection issues until you do the DL09 to ED04 update..

I never had a voice mail without call event.

I just flashed the DL09 modem and then flashed the DL09 to ED04 update.. 4 mintues.. No issues..

Hopefully can report back good news..

Took 5 minutes to get my shiny new modem software. I was considering reverting to stock and OTA'ing my way up, but the community stepped up and gave me a shortcut. Thank you all!

I did exactly this process Friday afternoon, so far, no missed calls.

Did the ED01 to ED04 flash the other night and had a missed call today without any action... Fail

This may be a mere coincidence, but i made the upgrade from EC01 to ED04 on Saturday, and my battery life has been stellar. I am attributing this to the fact that my reception has been excellent. I mean form 1 bar at work to 4 bars. Normally at this point of the day I would be at 50%, I am hanging out at 75% with normal usage.

I flashed from ED01 to ED04, and I'm experiencing a slight but definite decrease in signal. I know that I can ODIN to DL09 and then CWM the ED04.zip, but I have a Mac (therefore no ODIN).

Is there a flashable DL09.zip floating around somewhere? I'd like to do it all from my phone if possible.
Thanks!

Unfortunately - no. DL09 is Odin only.

Would using ODIN to flash DL09.tar, then Clockwork to flash ED04.zip still be the best way to go about attempting a fix?
Thats the feeling I get from XDA and this forum.

You are correct. Odin to DL09 and then select which modem-delta file you want to use to update your modem to EA28, ED01, ED03 or ED04...

What is it you are trying to fix?

I've noticed a pretty significant drop in reception that I had w/ ED03 before flashing ED04. I only figure that it won't hurt to do a back up then flash from DL09 to ED04.

I hope I am understanding what you are trying to do:
If doing a back up (nandroid via CWM) - it does not back up the modem.. ROM only.. Modem cannot be backed up by any source or program.
