Edge Features - Do you truly use them?

Hello all. I am about to upgrade to S6 edge, S7, or S7 Edge.

Was curious how much you truly use the edge features? Is it worth using those features versus having more case and screen overlay choices? Those features worth what seems like an easier screen to crack?

Also, It seems the S7 edge is gong to allow you to use 3rd party apps on edge. With that and marshmallow, will the edge features really be more useful?

Thanks in advance for any advice. :)

I use the peoples edge and apps edge features every day. I've used the edge color feature when you turn the phone upside down a few times when in a meeting.

There are third party apps in the play store for the S6 Edge at utilize the edge function.

I like the night clock feature because I keep my phone on my night stand and it's nice o be able to glance at the time and to also confirm my alarm is set. I don't use any of the other features, though, and honestly, the edge makes holding the phone kind of cumbersome as you have to be more careful about where your fingers and palm grip the sides (I hate cases and don't use them). For that reason alone, I will not be doing the edge version in the future.

Ditto Valorian! I use the features all day! I had to use my husband's regular s6 to try and call my son last week and I instinctively tried to swipe the side to get the people edge. It was actually a pain to have to go into the phone to call him. Hahaha and the night clock rocks! At a glance I can tell if my alarms are set it's great

Like everybody here said: the night clock is great. The Edge Color feature is the one thing I've never used, since it's kind of stupid you have to place your phone face down. But I couldn't live without the People Edge and App shortcuts :p Also: what Tom said. At first you'll have to get used to holding your phone in a different way, but after a while you get used to it and he actually feels great in your hand. I can surely say that when my S6 Edge breaks (or when I feel the need to upgrade) I'll go for another Edge phone.

Thanks everyone for replies. Pre ordered an S7 edge. Can't wait.

App edge is great to move between your selected apps quickly. Instead of me pressing the home button and then the app tray I just swipe and select if from there.

For me I really like the People Edge and use it regularly. I also like the night clock but I don't use it because I like complete darkness in my room.

What about the standard features? Like People Edge and Night Clock?

Night clock doesn't work with otterbox and People Edge is a huge battery killer and useless if your emergency family contacts and work are on my Note 5

EDIT: it does but a battery killer with my email and Facebook always running

Not at all....ever. Silliest thing on the phone. No reason for those features to not exist on the regular S6/S7 as well, so they could be ignored by those people too.

Honestly, I wasn't a fan when I got the phone.

Now though? Well, after my Marshmallow update, the edge has been transformed! I absolutely love it, it's so much better than it used to be. Great choice on pre ordering the S7 edge, the edge features are now absolutely brilliant.
