Edge light not blinking like before

When I go into settings>Edge screen....I have edge lighting ON, People Edge ON, under select notifications I have messages, missed calls, email. Edge screen position is set to RIGHT, Night clock OFF, Information stream ON. I have a few people added to "my people" and set to specific colors as you can do. Originally it worked, great, i.e. for my brother it lit up green when the phone was facing down and vibrated when I picked it up along with the screen dimly coming on with a green line on the right side. Now for some reason, it doesn't flash green when a notification or call and there is no vibration and the screen doesn't even turn on when I pick it up. Also, the green line on the side is gone. Ironically the Information stream still works fine. Does anyone know why this would happen?

Are you saying it doesn't do this for phone call or for texts? If its texts, are you using the Samsung app or a 3rd party?

For texts and I'm using the Samsung app. Haven't tested phone calls but will momentarily.

Ok, I did the phone call and worked. Figured I'd try text after and now that works too ☺. Not sure what it was but thanks for the phone call suggestion.
