Edge Lightning Not Working

Mine only works for the current opened app if it has a notification. Like the Samsung music player. No other app notification from othere apps appear. I thought that was now it works. It sounds like it should work differently.

When I'm on a phone call... if I receive an email or text my edge light lights up... I have to ask are you any of u guys on T-Mobile?

I didn't think mine was working until i turned up the intensity or thickness of it then it worked fine and I turned it off

Agreed 100%.

For those who don't know, this used to be an amazing feature on the S7 Edge. You could set a color for each of your contacts. When you placed the phone upside down on a desk or other surface, when one of those contacts called or texted you, the display would light up whatever color that contact had so you knew who contacted you.

This feature on the Note 8 is completely different. It's also completely removed on the S7 Edge now.

Yelp had that on my s6 edge plus too

Well I know for fact this works on my T-Mobile Note 8.. If it works for others on here then it's either your carrier or software that's the issue or perhaps you mistakenly missed one of my steps somewhere along the way? Perhaps try it again...

It seems to work for me, but even with no transparency, u hardly notice the screen light up. I wish they would Facebook Messenger to the list of apps.

I am on T Mobile mine does not either

*Have you followed my posted steps to a "T" in post #18 of page one? I was watching YouTube when I got this text message and it worked just fine with my T-Mobile Note-8.

Yes I followed your steps line by line and as written still not working

Ibotta sent me a notification, and the Edge Lighting worked. So the issue seems to be with the text messages (Messages + ).

I just got one for Facebook when I was on the phone. Only one I've seen so far. Nothing when screen is off which is when it would be useful!

Tried all that and still not working for me either. With Verizon

Tried all the above and edge lighting still not working for me with Android Messages (Google Messages). I get the LCD indicator that I have a message, but no edge lighting. Verizon Note 8.

Check that...Edge lighting working with Android Messages when the screen is on. But not when it's off. That's when I need it!

I'm with Verizon and I can get facebook and got my verizon messages to light up sortof i had to turn on regular stock messenger for the lighting ... not sure about other parts as I don't typically get much happening on my phone when I can see it.

I'm glad it works for you, but it's simply broken on mine and many others as you can see.

I can't even get the edge lighting quick response to work on it (when screen is off and face down, I should be able to decline incoming calls and send a quick response message by placing my finger on the heart rate sensor for 2 seconds). That's a setting I have for my edge lighting I tried using as well. Which of course didn't work.

I would have loved this feature, but I simply can't get it to work regardless of what I do.
