Edge of the Note 20, versus Note 4

Managed to hold a Note 20 Ultra.

I am a little disappointed with the edge of the device/screen. The edge is slightly curved, although Samsung have other models with even more of a curved edge.

Honestly, I do wish the edge of the Note 20 Ultra, was like the Note 4. To me, there would be less false positives, when accessing apps, text and such, near the screen edge.

Of course, this is merely my opinion...

Samsung needs to get rid of the curved sides completely. That would eliminate practically all false positives.

You can access the Edge Panels without curved sides so there is no real reason to have them and they no longer even do anything for the edge like they had on the Note 4 Edge. One of the only good things they did on the Note 20 was use a flat panel and you can see with the Fold 2 the phone looks just fine with flat screen.

Just chiming in, curves are sexy. I am NOT looking forward to going back to flat screens. Now, false touches? Yeah, that can be improved...and it has. A case helps, but if you're like me, that takes away from the sexiness of the phone, so I only ever put a case on if I go to the beach or the pool (or when I know kids are gonna be around hehe).

Honestly, who doesn't like 'curves'? :)

I installed "No more accidentally touching" app from the play store which helps prevent this problem.

Well if curved screens bother you, Samsung probably is going to disappoint you in the future with wrap around screens. Samsung has always pushed the envelope on phones, going back to flat screen is probably a ways off.

I myself think the curved screen phones look nicer, there's ways to address the side touch issue, one is in a great app called good lock. Samsung is going for the no bezel look and curved screens is helping them with that. I'm not excited about the wrap around screen though, I think that will be a case nightmare.

Not sure how you guys are holding your phones but I get MAYBE 1 false touch a month...

Holding like any other person. Could depend on the case. If your rocking an Otterbox or any case that’s probably adding about 1/8” or more of rubber on each side then you you probably never get false touches.

I was using a Spigen Utlra Hybrid Clear which was thinner and I also had no issues with false touches.

Now, with my Latercase... +0.6mm on each side ... yeah, I have been running into false touch issues. Second picture... how can you not have false touches :-\. But hands down my favorite case... Pretty much close to rocking it “no case” and loving how much thinner it feels.

Wow, that's a thin case. Looks like a thick wrap.

Yeah, the DBrand CF wrap does look as thick as this one. I use to use a Spigen Thin Fit case on my iPhone 6S which was about .5mm so I'm loving this one cause I really like how thin this phone feels. And with this Kevlar material, it has an awesome feel to it... almost like a rubber feel??... not slippery.

Yeah I'm surprised they didn't go with how they made the S20Ultra. That's pretty much got a flat screen.

Just got my later case tonight and I absolutely love it.

I can't straight from the Note 4 and the curved screen hasn't given me the first issue yet. Almost two weeks of owning mint now. Actually a pleasant feel to it. Used with our without a case. Ringke Fusion X case on 80% of the time.

Cool. Yeah, this is my favorite case... Has to be the thinnest case you can get. Fit and finish excellent. The millimeters it shaves off around the entire phone over a conventional case gives it a completely different feel and you really feel how thin this phone is. Kevlar looks hot on it... looks like it should be attached to Batmans utility belt lol... and feels great; non-slip feel for me, no fingerprints and if anything on the back just wipe down and looks new.

I still have my clear and a new Spigen Ultra Hybrid in box when I got the phone but I suspect I'll be keeping this one on indefinitely.
