Edge Screen Notifications while off/AOD

So my Edge Screen notifications aren't showing when the screen is off or AOD is active. This was an issue way back when, but usually fixed by letting the notification show as a pop-up. But it's back again (T-Mobile S20+). Anyone else having the same issue or is it a carrier bug?

Can you explain what the issue is? I'm waiting for my T-Mobile S20+ this week and hope to not have any issues to figure out.

Just... that. Edge screen notifications aren't showing while the screen is off or on AOD (even when they're set to show Always). It's working on the Note 10, but not on the S20 (at least on mine; again, trying to figure out if it's a carrier thing or, in Samsung fashion, just another broken feature).

EDIT: Just noticed I missed a couple words in the title haha

Ah okay thanks lol. Well that defeats the purpose of AOD and supposedly more control over notifications *insert eye roll here*. Hopefully someone figures out a fix!

Well, plot thickens... Telegram notifications DO show up while the screen is off and on AOD. I tried seeing where the difference in Notification style settings was between that and other apps... can't find any :S

Get "Edge Lighting Fix for all Apps" free on the play store, and follow the instructions, it will work.
I am using it on my S20u, all my edge lighting works just fine, I also used it on my S10+.

Tried it, and it works... BUT (and as attested by some comments in the app reviews) it does break notification sounds/vibration for some apps...sometimes... so nope, not a solution (for me at least... sure, I can see the bubble with the screen off, but I can't hear or feel the phone notify me of new text messages... sad sad sad)

That's strange, I don't seem to have that problem on my S20U nor did I have it on my S10+

Yeah, it's weird...tried it again and it's working now. And then it stops... and then it comes back.

Oh, also, it 'breaks' the window pop-up action for the bubble if you happen to catch it from the off screen (if you touch and drag the bubble as it appears, the notified app opens up in window mode... not if you use the 'fix' app :( the bubble while the screen is on still works though, so that one caveat isn't terrible since how many times do you REALLY catch the bubble if your screen is off, right?).

New to the Ultra, and Edge Lighting is not working, period.
Currently, I merely have notifications for Email and Nest. Alas, the options are on, for those apps, but I never see the Edge Lighting.

Any suggestions?

Edge lighting does not work with all applications especially when screen is off. It only works correctly with Samsung apps. Some other aps will work but only when screen is on.

Interesting. Oddly enough, the application I am testing it with, is Samsung Email. And it still is not working.
Rather weird. Even more so, I do not understand why they are offering all the various apps in the Edge Lighting options, yet only certain apps work. I recall liking that feature on my Note 10+.

But, thanks for the information.
Most of my apps work but not when phone off. My Samsung apps like samsung message work with screen off. I don't understand either why they give u all those app options if they dont work. Makes no sense

jus a side question, the way they did the S10 line, with the ability to use the area around the selfie cam as a notification as well, is this still available to be done on the S20 line????

It is available. You have to use Edge Lighting+ from the Galaxy Store I believe.

For Google Messages, edge lighting works just fine with the screen on and active/unlocked. When the screen is off or AOD, I just get the icon. It was the same with Textra. Sounds like a bug to me at this point.
