Whenever I search for information on editing Google Docs, I seem to find alternatives to doing it and a lot of roundabout answers.

Why can't I edit Google Docs on my Thunderbolt? I thought I read that with 2.2, we could now do it?

You can. Use MyDocs, select Search for a list of all the documents that you have already uploaded, and select the doc you want to edit. I don't particularly like this as it is slow and the spreadsheet interface is crappy.

Thanks, Robrecht

The ability to edit docs has not been baked into Android yet so that info was false. They have made editing docs via mobile browsers accessible. A search in the market will bring you several options but I would suggest purchasing a full blown office app like Docs to go or Quickoffice. Back in the BB days Docs to Go provided a 14 day trial period, after which, wiping your device would allow you to receive another 14 days, wiping again would give yet another 14 days if you get my drift. Not sure if this works with Android. Personally I use QuickOffice now and its well worth the investment if your going to use it often and get your moneys worth.

I've been getting ready to order one of these office suites. Haven't used one since the old Palm days 'cause I've been on Windows Mobile ever since. Thus, I have lots of questions, but will only trouble you with a few if you don't mind:

Do these apps allow you to edit docs while they reside in the cloud on Google Docs?

Even when I edit Google Docs on my laptop, I experience frustrating slowness. Is there an easy way to edit docs on on your phone or laptop and quickly sync them to Google Docs? (I realize this is not ideal from the point of version control.)

Is Dropbox better for editing typical office suite docs?

I hope these questions would also be of interest to the OP.
