I dont think your missing anything and as far as I know there is no way to select all, delete all. They are also missing the delete forever option you get if you access your email through a browser. They need to add that instead of expecting someone to wait 30 days for their email to auto delete from trash.I must be missing something.... How do you delete mail from the trash folder without doing it one at a time ie select all, delete all?

True, but you have to wonder how they manage to miss such basic operations from the beginning. For instance, in the Google calendar app, you can't jump to a date. And for a while, in the Yahoo mail app, you couldn't reply all.Yes, the mobile Gmail app is not as full featured as the desktop browser version. On the other hand, it's better than the version from 6 months ago. And that version was better than the version from 6 months before that, etc. So I have no doubt that these features will be added in future updates. In the meantime, you can use the mobile version in the Chrome browser. It allows you to select multiple items in the Trash folder, and delete them all at once. It's still not as full featured as the desktop browser version, but it's better than nothing.
They may be basic operations, but to me it's all magic! Its hard to believe the things we can do with this little slab of plastic and glass, things that were just a fantasy a few years ago. So I tend to temper my complaints a bit when it comes to new technology features.True, but you have to wonder how they manage to miss such basic operations from the beginning.
