Coming from an iPhone and being a couple of years since using an Android, what email app does everyone recommend? I have Gmail, a pop3 accounts. I'm currently using Blue Mail Thanks!

I use Aquamail. Very customizable. The developer is very responsive to emails.

I'm using Aquamail and really like it. There is a black theme and the Smart folder let's you check all your messages in the same place.

I use inbox for my google account and gmail for my work-office365. I used outlook on my last phone (s7edge) but had problems with google calendar and notifications when I tried that on my pixel2xl. I also like that gmail has my todo list.

I've used Aqua Mail for years. It has almost every feature that any other has (push, rich text, etc.), plus one feature that I have yet to see with any competitor: the ability to have sync and push only on WiFi, a great feature for limited plans. Even with this feature turned on, one can manually sync whenever desired. The developer responds to requests and issues and provides frequent updates.

Inbox by Google. It's very easy to "pin" important emails and "snooze" messages. Snooze will cause an email to reappear at a designated time or location of your choice. Very handy.

ProtonMail for my personal.

Aquamail for my Gmail accounts...
was using Email by Edison but the lack of a delete option from the notification was killing me.

just tried this for sh_ts and giggles and while it has it's pros, the price for the pro version is a little high. The free version would only set up 2 of my accounts and I believe only one (gmail) was able to push email. Bluemail does it all and pretty efficiently.
Maybe I'll revisit it another time as I did like the look and feel of it.

Nine email is great for exchange email as well as gmail. Well worth the price and very customizable and great support from the developers.

I used to use Gmail for everything not work related, but the features just aren't there for me now. Why does Gmail not display unread badges, when both Nine mail and LG's built-in mail do? Also, even though I turned off conversation view, it still groups my emails by conversation. I DON'T WANT THAT!! Google likes to force features, and then purposely not offer other simple features. I like settings and customization, but Google wants to be like Apple, and restrict customization.

Aquamail. Extremely configurable with light, dark, and inky black themes, plus a developer that responds to questions within hours. It's primarily geared towards Gmail but supports Outlook, Yahoo, and others as well and has its own backup option. It's missing the snooze function and doesn't handle Gmail's special categories (Primary, Forums, Promotions) but I don't find this to be a detriment. If you want a client that does support the snooze function and still handle multiple accounts, I suggest BlackBerry Hub. In addition to handling email, you can also add other accounts such as Slack, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook. One of the Hub's perks is it keeps track of individual Slack channels and all, and I do mean all, Instagram notifications. No themes to be found and you're stuck with the font size, but it's very good at what it does.

I tried the default Gmail account but I couldn't make it work without a bulk delete option, which Aquamail and the Hub provide. Inbox is very good, but only supports Gmail accounts. I used to use Inbox alongside Nine, which supports only Outlook/Exchange accounts, but have ditched them both for Aquamail as I prefer having a single app for email. I had previously tried many others like Blue, Typemail, and MyMail but wasn't overly impressed.

Some light reading regarding email client security, for those interested.

I've always liked AquaMail better for gmail.
Bluemail works better for my corporate email/exchange.

I run them both with no issues or drain.

I'm a big fan of Nine. I tried using Outlook for Android, but it doesn't integrate with the phone's contacts and calendar apps. Nine does, and it works very well for the way I use email.

Gmail for the heavy lifting. Boomerang for when I want to schedule an email for later or dismiss it from my inbox until it's relevant. And Guerilla Mail for burner addresses.
