Email Apps - Folders

Hi, I just got my razr maxx and I setup a yahoo icon mail account and it's slow to get emails and doesn't let me archive anything into folders. But when I just add an email account (same yahoo account) with the generic email logo, I can archive into all of my email folders and it seems to get the emails in real-time. Does this sound right? The only reason I care about the yahoo logo app is that in my notifications, it's nice to see which source the notifications are from. Any thoughts would be great. Been on a blackberry for years so I don't know too much about android phones.
