Email icon not showing on phone or watch

I have had my S3 (w/o LTE) for a couple weeks. Nicer than I expected. Everything but email is working fine. I can`t locate an email icon on the watch or in the Gear S3 app on my phone. The phone is a Motorola Z Force Droid with Android 8.0.0. So, it's not a sync'ing issue as I can't find the email app on the watch. Is this (watch email app) something that has to be downloaded or activated some how? Thanks for any help.

Update: Spoke to TWO people at Samsung support. By their knowledge of the S3, I'm assuming they're level 1 at least with watches. Neither had answers about the Gear email app. I talked to both for quite a while, hoping to either jog memories or have them walk me through some procedure to ensure I had all the base apps on the phone Gear app & on the watch. Neither had a clue about when or how the email app appears on the watch or to in the Gear app listing on the phone. Doesn't say much about their watch support. This is basic.

If you click the bottom right button on your S3 you should be able to scroll through the apps and find the email app. It is a red circle with a envelope outlined in white.

I have never used it. I get email notifications on my watch from my phone. On my phone I use TypeApp for email.

Yes, I am getting the notifications and can read from the notifications. I have looked for the red circle with envelop. And can seem to find that icon in 'apps'. You don't need a data connect, right? The watch is reading the inbox, right?

I've never used the app on the phone. When I click on it I get the message "No email account. Set one up on your phone?"
I'm guessing that the watch would use the BT connection to your phone to check email on that account.

Yes, I have two email accounts that I use Outlook to manage. Works great on the phone. I thought the email icon should show regardless if you actually have email accounts. I can't find it anywhere on the phone.
 
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe the email app on the watch is available to use if you aren't using the watch with a Samsung phone.

Yes, I do have the Samsung Gear app on my phone. I have looked there and have not found the email icon app there either. I do have all the latest gear updates, too.
