Email Issue - Could be a deal breaker

I've only had my Fascinate since Friday (free deal at BB) so I haven't noticed this problem until now. I see there is no option to send files other than media via email. This poses as a huge problem for me, especially coming from a Blackberry, to not be able to send MS Office files. I have tried the webmail version of my mail client and it will not allow me to browse for a file their either. The only option I get when navigating to the files on my SD card with the file manager is to send via bluetooth, which will allow me to print, but I need to email as well. I mean really what is the point of being able to create/edit documents on your phone if you can't send them to other people once your work is done? Are there any alternative email apps/options that would allow me to do this?

If you use the My Files utility to browse for the file you want to send, you can long-press on it and a menu will pop up. If you select Share, you'll be given the option to share it via Bluetooth or to e-mail it. Works with Gmail at least, not sure about the stock mail client, but it does work.

Thanks. Ill have to use that method for now. I had Gmail hidden on my phone since rooting because I had my primary email associated with the default client. Thus, I was not given the mail option when choosing to share the file. Still very roundabout...

I think I've found the best solution so here goes for anyone else that has had this issue. Gmail will allow you to use their service to send mail from another account. Thus, I can make my home/business email the default one to use through gmail, and send files through their app on my device. The recipient is none the wiser as the address that they receive the mail from shows as my home email now instead of my gmail address.

I have both Yahoo app and K9 mail and if you go into My Apps and path to the file, it will allow you to send via Yahoo of K9. Also if you Astro File Explorer, path to the file and do the same. Within K9, I can attach a file that is not media if I have Astro installed.
