Email notification question

Is there a way to just get a single notification sound once I receive a text/email etc? Anytime I get a new message it keeps giving me an audible notification until I check it. Any way i can prevent it from doing that?

There must be. Mine just does it once. Not near my phone at the moment, but check Personalize as well as the notification settings inside the app. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I guess it depends on the app. I use ChompSMS and there is an option in the settings to repeat notification.
