Update to those following my other thread.

I factory reset the phone after i used odin to flash factory rom. Installed latest ATT update. Setup google account and again put the phone on wireless charger, after 10 mins of no activity send myself emails from different accounts from the PC and No email notifications at all with just Mobile Network only turned on. I tested this with wired charging and the result is the same.

This is quite a headache, with phone off charger it works fine. I'm sure if more people did this test they would see same problem.

If there are others who can also test this i would appreciate it. I have contacted samsung and they created a ticket but no way to know when if it will be resolved.

Test condition:
1. Charge phone, wired or wireless, only turn on Mobile network, no wifi!!!
2. Leave the phone untouched and idle for 10+ mins
3. during this time no txt or phone calls otherwise it will reset the sleep flag
4. after 10+ mins of no activity send yourself emails from a desktop or another phone. You should in theory get notifications but I'm willing to be you will not.

Come on folks there has to be people out there with this issue and can test this.

thanks

Thanks, I'm on the second Gold and it is acting the same as the previous phones. I have been waiting for att UCT to call me back to follow up with this issues is reported and tomorrow is the last day of the 72 hours they require before they respond.

If anyone else is having this issue the only way it will get resolved is if you call your carrier and samsung to notify them. It was made clear to me if there are a lot of complaints that is when they take action.

Sorry, been out of town a few days. AT&T, stock gmail client, 32GB, Black.

If you don't mind I would like to know if you can tell me how you have the actual app setup. Notifications are obviously set for the inbox, priority and sent mail by default, but do you have notifications set for other labels? I turn off Priority inbox and just have notifications for Inbox alone. I don't believe it is any settings causing this problem but it does not hurt to ask the obvious.

I use the default inbox and have labels for "primary", "updates" and "forums." The last one is non-stock that I add for messages from listservers and status messages from forums (like here). I dont see that notifications has any choices based on label, there is only the master on/off and and "labels on/off" inside of where the sound, vibration and such are. There is a "notify every message" box and I have it unchecked, as once I have unread mail, i got the point and dont need a new notification that there is even more unread mail. The notification on the notification shade is sufficient for me.

Samsung has admit this is a problem and they are looking into it. At this point I have done everything i can with the carrier and samsung. UCT will notify me when there is a patch released and ill post it as soon as i hear anything.

I can tell you im on my 7th phone and while the push notifications is not as good as blackberry it is the best one so far. I have contacted ATT and Samsung, they are both aware and now Samsung is admitting there is a problem and looking into it. However if more people do not complain through their carrier or Samsung the fix will be very slow. I highly urge you to contact Samsung and report this problem so they have multiple cases of this issue to push the fix out asap.
