If I get an email while my TF is asleep, I hear the notification sound. The TF doesn't seem to wake. At least the screen doesn't come on, but something is happening. Does this affect my battery life?

I wouldn't think using the notification sound for your emails would have any noticeable effect on your battery life. Because even without the notification sound the transformer is still receiving the email regardless.

I use sound manager app to schedule when the notifiation tone is active. Works great on the transformer and my phone

I would grab cpu spy from the market and see if its actually getting into deep sleep. I have had my notifications sound too when I thought it was asleep and went to check on it and my dock battery was drained. Looked at cpu spy and it never actually went into deep sleep. Usually a simple reboot will get it to sleep normally again. In my experience my email, voice, or any other notifications (unless an alarm is set) do not ring when in deep sleep.

I believe you're incorrect on that. As long as you have wifi to never turn off, then you will get a notification. To eliminate the sound, the notification sound needs to be muted-which is what I use sound manager for.

That's been my experience with email notification, as well. I did a fair amount of testing during the great battery discharge thing on the ASUS transformer, and was quite surprised to hear them, even as CPU SPY indicated it was in deep sleep. I also use Sound Manager on my cell to silence the notifications during our sleeping hours, and to keep my wife happy.

To be fair I do have my wifi turned off when my tablet goes to sleep. I figured it had to be using the battery to keep wifi working. Hence the reason I do not get notifications while in deep sleep. The reason I suggested it was only because when I do get notifications... my tablet never went to sleep.
