My friend has a Samsung Galaxy Ace and has mistakenly put her Gmail account in both of the email folders on the phone (gmail one and the other one.) how does she get it to appear only in the gmail folder and not the other one. Thanks

what do you mean folders? are you referring to applications? gmail appears in two applications? if she was the gmail application installed and also has gmail setup in the default email application it might be easiest to uninstall the gmail application and mail will only show up in one place.

the easiest thing to do would be to just drag one of the application icons to the trash. that way there is no clicking a second application and seeing the email a second time.

Hi,
If you/your friend wants to remove the email account from the device main app?
Just select options and account and finally remove/delete account.
And that should solve the problem.

If the account disappear from the gmail folder ?
Just sign in again.

Good luck
Hope all works for you

yes I guess I mean applications- there are 2 icons- one that is for gmail (i assume) and one that is for other email accounts. It is easy enough to drag the one she doesn't want to the trash. But then if she wants to add another email that is not gmail, how would she do that, or will it automatically great another icon for that email account.

Yes,
just visit device "settings",
and look for "accounts".
In accounts you can add and remove accounts to and from the device very easily.

Don't worry about the trashed icons from the main screen because they are just that, icons and widgets.

You can bring any app from the app menu to the home screen by pressing your finger on top of the selected app.
And thrash it if you don't need it anymore but the app will remain intact in the app menu anyway.

To completely delete and remove any app from the phone, you need to uninstall the app.

You are just removing accounts,
And not deleting the apps.

I hope all works fine for you
Good luck

She doesn't want to get rid of gmail account. The problem is gmail is showing up under the gmail icon and the default mail icon. She want to use the default email icon for a hotmail account but the gmail is under the default there as well as under the gmail icon. Thanks for your help

Ok,
Just open the email app intended for "hotmail" and press "menu". (Menu is the touch button in the bottom left below the screen)
After you open the menu, you need to choose settings.
In settings you will find the email accounts used in the app:

-If you press the "+" symbol in the top of the screen, you can add new or more email accounts.

But if you are receiving Google email in that app and also in Google email app like you explained before?

Than all you need to do is remove the Google email account from that app.

And you will still be receiving Google emails in the Google email app as usual.

I hope this explanation can be of any use.
And I hope you can solve your problem successfully.
