Email Push Sync Issue

My Gmail isn't automatically getting pushed to me. Once I open the gmIl app, the items arrive.

Anyone else experiencing this issue on the Pixel XL?

I don't have a Pixel, but I'm having the same issue on my N6. And I've had it periodically on a number of devices. For me, it's typically email from early morning hours. I thought it might be Doze, but I have Gmail ignoring battery optimization. Ironically, I never have this issue on my iPhone, which, I just discovered, will push Gmail with the Outlook app.

Silly question but is sync enable? I have no issue with push email.

I'm still experiencing this issue, am I the only one?

I've tried removing my second Google account, I've tried giving unlimited data permission to Gmail and Google services and now I am out of ideas.

Can anyone offer some advice or maybe has this happened to you on another device previously?

Your not alone. Been seeing issues on my S7 edge for a week or so now.
Decided to get out my Note 4 and M9, and M10 and start to test them to see if its a server side issue or gmail app issue.

I'm having an issue with Gmail on my Pixel XL as well. I will send a message from my phone and it will just say "Queued". And doesn't deliver. Sometimes for awhile.

This happens with me periodically on all my prior android phones and with my new XL. But only in the early morning. When I wake my phone up in the morning, the email push notifications come through. Why is that? This isn't unique to my XL. This happened periodically with my Note 4, 5x, and Note 7. My battery saver is turned off.

I would look at your data services provisioning. If its trying to send and gets queued then it may not have a good data connection. Ive had issues with TMOs IPv6 protocols and made my own IPv4 APN and that fixed most of my issues.

Good to know that there may be a reasonable explanation. So are email push notifications delayed then until I wake the phone in the morning BC the phone has been in a "deep sleep" mode? It happens only in the early morning when it does happen.

Mine doesn't push those early morning email messages. I have to manually fetch them.

I'm assuming it is Doze. My XL is in standby overnight (not charging) and on wifi overnight.

An I correct to assume Doze is same for Nougat as Marshmallow?

Well it still doesn't make sense. I've used my phone all morning and afternoon, an email alert just came through at 2:29 CT for something that actually arrived 12:16 CT....

This is unbelievable for a $1,000 device.

So your sure its the device and not the service?
theres a good possibility its a server side issue. Especially if its happening on other devices.
I have noticed a difference in sync between my Samsung S7 Edge, HTC 10 and Nexus 6.
Heck ill even notice a difference if they are all connected to the same wifi at home.

My HTC10 was not experiencing this issue, but its hard to compare because it wasn't yet on Android N.

But, interestingly enough I just did a couple of more checks and my Gmail through a browser is also receiving a delay (approximately 90-180 seconds) before receiving the email despite refreshing with F5 and then gets pushed to my phone another 15-60 seconds after.

I have tried everything but resetting the phone to factory conditions.
So far I have tried:

-Disable Gmail (uninstall) with reinstall
-Removing Gmail accounts and re-adding them
-Allowing Unrestricted data usage
-Notify for every message is enabled
-Clear Gmail app data and cache
-Reboot phone
-Uncheck/Check sync for each Gmail account 10 times
-Cycle on and off airplane mode
-Again, remove and add Gmail accounts
-Tried using just one Gmail account (I have two)

Nothing is working and I am running out of patience for a $1,000 device.

I have a HTC 10, Note 4, Galaxy S6, HTC M9 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
I have noticed huge differences in gmail sync across them all. I dont believe its a device issue your seeing but rather a sync / server issue.
I have a couple gmail accounts and when i go into accounts and check sync some have not synced for several hours while others are a minute or two behind.
Try to get your hands on another device and test it out on that as well like i have and see what your results are.
