email question about syncing with email account

i have a verizon email account and was wonding if there's something special you have to do to set it up with the phone. i ask this cause i also have a aol account and for the aol email, if i delete it on the phone , it will delete on the aol account. if i delete a verizon email on the phone, it never deletes on the verizon side just on the phone. is there something special you have to program to get it to work. i would appreciate it if someone can help me out with this

it depends. POP3 doesnt allow for 2 way syncing. IMAP does. You need to find out which one your verizon account uses.
