email question

Note 3, using using stock email app. I get an email from a friend who's email address is like firstname.lastname@yahoo. When i get an email from him, the app just says "yahoo" as the sending person. Every other contact that i have, including yahoo people, comes through showing the name fine. I deleted his contact, reentered the contact and it still reports it as yahoo. It's it something to do with the firstname.lastname format? It's not serious, but aggrevating.

His email address is lastname@yaho.com. There's a subdomain at that address named firstname. (It's set up as firstname.lastname as the email address when you're setting it up at Google.)

I have a Google email account like that. I just used it to send myself an email to another Google email address. The stock Samsung email app (Note 3 running stock 5.0) showed the full email address - From firstname.lastname. K9 showed it the same way.

I don't know what to tell you.
