emails and calls

Today I thought I found the solution - how to receive emails and answer them - I use a note 4 and the gear S with a sim card - stop wifi and bluetooth stay connnected via remote but then the gear doesn`t ring when a call comes in ?

My settings are calls forwarded and multi sim is checked.

What ist wrong ?

It takes a while for the call to get forwarded to the Gear, like 20 seconds. They'll probably hang up by then. Lol.

Once bluetooth is out of range or you turn off bluetooth it takes about 20-30 seconds for it to switch over to it's own radio. I've turned off bluetooth a few times and it takes about that long to become it's own cellphone. Maybe inthe future they could patch it up to be faster?

The fact that you can make phone calls and text is what makes it standalone. It's still a smart watch and still an extension of your phone.

It can be a standalone phone (dual-band), but won't have its' full smart-ish phone functionality. I use it as my only phone and love its' simplicity for talk and text with light data use.
