Emails dont look the same

I am posting two screenshots. One from gmail, another from Outlook.
In Gmail it looks right when email is read, but in Outlook it's still in bold like I didn't read it.
Please give an idea what;s wrong if anything.

Try reading it -- then refreshing it in outlook (refreshing the client) to see.

Mine's the same way, but in outlook, it should be shaded grey if you read it like it is on yours. That's the way it's supposed to be. So no worries.

When you open an email in outlook, it will become shaded grey to let you know it's been opened.

No, it's not. The subject stays bold. Just like in my attached screenshot.

OK. Let's try this again. The read email in outlook will be shaded grey. The whole box. Nothing else changes. Subject stays bold. Fonts stay the same. The only thing that changes is the color of the box between the lines that separate each email.

I can't explain this any better.
