Emails not coming through

Emails from Gmail come through immediately, but Yahoo emails won't come in on their own, I have to manually refresh the inbox for the mail to come through, and for .edu account I have to go into email settings > delivery options, uncheck data push and recheck data push and go back to the inbox and the emails will come through. Completely unacceptable. Please help.
