Emails sent through Exchange Online remain in Outbox

I have a Galaxy Nexus running ICS. I set-up my Exchange Online on it. Emails are coming in just fine. I recently discovered, due to several very embarrassing occasions where I asked people about stuff I sent them and found out they didn't receive it, that I have many emails waiting in my Outbox on my Android, never leaving it. Several tests proved to me that my Android isn't sending emails. Here are a few additional points:

1. If I access the account from the web it sends emails just fine.

2. This same account is also configured on my iPhone, where it sends emails just fine.

3. I used the instructions presented here: Set Up Exchange E-Mail on an Android Mobile Phone

4. I configured the "server" in Settings-->Accounts&Sync-->Account-Settings-->Incoming-Settings to be m.outlook.com - emails are coming in fine, but not going out

5. I reconfigured the server to be bl2prd0410.outlook.com (which is the Host address in the About page in my webmail application), and still the same issue occurs.

6. Needless to say, I restarted my phone many times during the process, specifically between each change to server etc.

I'm far from being an expert on emails, but something does bother me in the fact that the settings are called "incoming settings", and my incoming emails are just fine, but there are no "outgoing settings". I guess that's just the terminology...?

I posted the same issue on the Office 365 forums, but I thought maybe someone from the community here already encountered such a case.

I'd appreciate any help.
 
Did you ever find a CURE for this? It only happens intermittently and I can't figure out the pattern that causes this.
