I too, absolutely agree the OP should've been taken care of in the way that he had.
I probably wouldn't have posted it...for fear of others trying the same because the finish is flaking off their kickstand. LOL.
 
Are you kidding! Of course people will abuse it. Most people have no thought of anyone else or how their self serving actions will have a negative impact on others. It is a really good thing to have these options available but people abusing them will get them killed off and then people will be screaming about how badly Verizon is treating its customers, when in fact, it is some of the customers who are abusing a good policy that gets it killed off.

This rant doesn't apply to everyone but its amazing to me how much I see in these forums, and other phone forums, of people talking about ways to get around policies, lie to VZW or Assurion to get new phones and generally trying to get stuff for free that they have no right to.

Putting on fire proof suit so fire away! :D

AMEN Brother (or sister) completely blows my mid how often I see it and most don't have any reservations whatsoever about doing that kind of thing.

It's great that they took care of the OP (as they should have), but honestly I wish people would not post when this kind of thing happens as it just leads to more people abusing it and the benefit disappearing such as the before-mentioned multu-FRU replacement benefit.

I have been in business for myself almost my entire adult life (and that's a long time) and you would be amazed at what some people will do to get things they don't deserve, service or products for free that they didn't earn and/or don't deserve, and get anything they can for free. We have very generous policies in terms of servicing our customers and bending over backwards to make and keep them happy. Nevertheless, there are always a certain percentage of major chumps who try to use those policies to "take us". Because of them we have scaled back some of the services that we provide at no charge.

On the other hand, to be fair, most of our customers are very fair and in return we will go more than the extra mile to make them happy. Its just too bad that I see so much of that same "gimme something for nothing" type thinking in these forums.
