Enabling hearing aid mode gets rid of the hiss during calls.

Noticed that if I turn on hearing aide mode in settings under phone, it get's rid of the background hiss. Not sure what else it does except add an Ear icon in the status bar.

Thanks so much for posting this. Tried changing quality to 13k, B, etc w/o no luck, but hearing aid mode did it.

I wouldn't be surprised to see your battery usage go up with this setting. Its a toggle to allow the phone to sync directly with suitable hearing aids so the phone is "looking" for that signal.
