Enabling Verizon features on an unlocked Note 9

I have seen posts about workarounds to re-enable the wifi calling, video calling, etc that Verizon offers but that is disabled in the unlocked version.

Is this usually something that is doable, or does it vary per the current version of the OS, etc? For example, I have heard of people doing it on their Note 8 phones, but then it sometimes reverses.

Thanks!

I don't have an answer on this, but I'm starting to wonder if I made a mistake getting the unlocked version. I've never paid for a phone in full before and wanted to be rid of the Verizon bloatware if possible. But now I'm reading these reports of issues with wifi calling, visual voicemail, etc. and I'm wondering if I should change my order to the Verizon version at this point.

They just want you to buy their phones so they can make more money so that's why they cripple features,

Well unfortunately, it's kinda working. Fortunately there are workarounds with 3rd party visual voicemail apps and calling apps, but it's still pretty annoying.

The best way is to flash the verizon software on the usa unlocked model. This will include all Verizon add ons and changes from the unlocked model.

Visual voicemail and VoLTE works fine on unlocked Samsung devices. Even tethering works.

That sounds awesome if that's true, but I've heard conflicting reports, especially about visual voicemail and wifi calling. Can you personally confirm that these features work? Thanks.

What does that process entail? I haven't rooted an Android phone in many a year, and was hoping to never have to again.

Nice!

What was involved? Simply side loading apps? Playstore apps? Rooting? Enabling buried features?

Thanks in advance.

I am speaking from personal experience. I had the Note 8, S8+ and S9+. WiFi calling doesn't work. At least it didn't for me.
