Enabling Vibrate turns on Data - a fix to this annoying issue?

Hi all,

This has been bothering me for a while now: basically every time I enable Vibrate on my phone it turns on Data (now this is fine normally but when I was out of the country on a refill SIMcard for local service it was just eating up my stored value/minutes)

I like have vibrate on because I normally keep my device in my pocket, I just don't seem to have a choice when it comes to this. Plus keeping wifi on all the time just drains my battery. Has any one else had this issue?

Any insight into this would be great, it's the only thing that's bothering me about my device...
