Has anyone encrypted their phone? I have been thinking of doing it, but not sure. Do you take a speed hit when trying to decrypt? I have had the phone for two weeks, will it take forever to encrypt the phone? Sure I'm forgetting some stuff, but thanks.

I haven't tried it because I read online that it does slow your phone down a noticeable amount. I don't want to sacrifice the speed. I would assume that the amount of time it takes depends on how much stuff you have on your phone and/or SDcard.

I encrypted my V10 after about 3months of use. 64GB SD card installed as well. Took less than an hour -- be sure you are plugged in. Every restart prompts for encryption passcode. You get 30 tries -- I've never needed more than two. Don't notice any slowdown after boot, boot may be a bit slower (~1 minute from power on to usable phone -- which is really kinda amazing that we all just accept this now. I'm old enough to remember pushing an ON button on a device like a TV and it was on and usable in one second. Sigh.)

Thanks for the update. It gives me hope......

The only noticeable slow down I experienced after encrypting my V10 is when I turn the phone off or on. Other than that it is still fast as usual.
