Couldn't find an exact answer for this on Verizon's website, or on the forums yet, so I wanted to ask:
My contract is up with Verizon on October 21st. I looked around, and decided the best route for my wife and I, given pricing and signal quality, is looking like AT&Ts Next program. We want to port our numbers over, so when we sign up with AT&T, the number port will cancel our contract with Verizon. So the question is: If we port during the final billing cycle, will Verizon just cancel it, and we'll only be responsible for the contract up until the 21st? Or will they say that we terminated the contract "early" since it was before the 21st, and hose us for an ETF?
I suppose we could just wait until the 21st or 22nd, but I'd rather just get it out of the way this weekend. And I'm sure if I call Verizon and ask, they're gonna hassle me to try and retain me. But if I go with Edge, my bill will go up $20 a month for the same service. And I don't want to put money down and be tied into a phone for 2 years, since they all seem to turn to crap around 18 months, lol.
