Enhanced Processing?

I would say without knowing what it is, whenever I see the word "enhanced" battery hit comes to mind, if this is for photo processing, I would definitely keep it on but at the same time, monitor my battery. I am with Verizon using and S21 5g and am not getting exceptional battery life. It is better then what I experienced with my last pixel, but not outstanding

I tried it on a few weeks back for a day or two and didn't really notice any difference in general performance. Wasn't sure about battery hit, but nothing obvious either.

I decided to leave it off, as if it's not going to cause noticeable performance gains, then I don't see much point. Furthermore, there surely has to be a battery hit - likely I didn't "notice" it due to it not being a huge hit, but it must be there.

O.K. Initially I thought this was for photo processing. When I went to that particular setting, it states that it uses more battery so this is for sure a no go with me until I find out what is draining my battery. Personally with all my experience with Verizon, sometimes it takes a few updates until they get it right and the battery finally settles down. Went through it before I started buying unlocked phones. Went with locked this time as I have been with Verizon for a long time, and I got a better deal on the S21 as opposed if I were to purchase it unlocked. I just have to get acclimated to Verizon and their updates again since its been so long

Well on my S20 FE 5g, I did a geekbench 5, 3dmark, and Antutu test with Enhanced Processing on and off, and I also made sure the CPU and battery temperature was the exact same before each test. I also had the phone in the exact same spot, same distance from the wifi modem, and also charged the phone back to 100% after each test. (Trust me this took me like 2 hours to complete 6 tests 😅) On geekbench, with enhanced processing on, I scored 5 points higher in single core and 66 points higher in multi core. 3DMark; 47 points higher overall. Finally, Antutu; 4501 points higher overall. I know these aren't ridiculously impressive gains, but what is impressive is that there is actually a performance gain at all using this feature! Its not a complete gimmick, but it definitely isn't a major feature. Hope this helps answer some questions, I know there isn't a lot of great info about this subject that I can find. :)

Edit: Ive had Enhanced Processing on for about 5 days and I got tired of wondering and finally did these tests lol, but I honestly I have not noticed any major battery drain, my phone still lasts me all day and I use it very frequently.

Thanks for the detailed analysis. Did you notice any real-world performance gains from using this option?

Sure you do. It's on my S21 Ultra T-Mobile unlocked.

Settings > Battery and Device Care > Battery > More Battery Settings (scroll down a bit)

When I click on processing speed, I have optimized, high, and maximum to choose from. No - enhanced. Unless I’m in the wrong spot

Wouldn't the high and maximum settings be considered enhanced processing speeds vs regular speed? I thought that's what the OP was referring to.

They changed the wording months ago.

\As I may have already said in this thread, I tested it quite a bit when I first got my phone and, back then at least, the battery hit and performance improvements were pretty much negligible in actual real world use..
