Hello everyone, I have a strange question but... how do you fully close the browser? Holding the "back" button doesn't seem to work, and I find myself using a task killer to really close the browser instead of movng it to the background. I look forward to your replies!
I never found a way to close the stock browser and always had to close it in the task manager (even though it technically wasn't "running" due to Android just open in the background not using any memory)
Since I've moved to Dolphin HD (definitely recommended), I've discovered that they do allow you to close the browser by asking you if you want to "exit" after backing out far enough...
**edit**
Okay, after thought and by fishing through my memory, I do remember how I would close my stock Epic browser... kinda funky but it worked for me...
1. Surf to your leisure on the stock browser...
2. When you're finished, choose the browser option that allows you to see the windows that are open at the time... (don't remember how)
3. Close all the "windows" that are currently open
4. When you close all of them, the browser will open one up automatically for you, and that one will default to your home page
5. In this new window, hit the back key... since it's a browser window and technically, in that window, you haven't had any browsing history, that browser window will close (as will the entire browser) and voila! -> No more open browser in the background
I know it's a little wordy and 5 steps seems pretty arduous, but it's probably because I explained it in too much detail... it's really very simple and I had it down to a quick and easy 1-2-3 motion before switching to Dolphin HD... and hey, it worked for me, so others may have found and are currently using easier and quicker / simpler methods
