I'm coming from a Palm Pre and was wondering if anyone can comment on how it compares to the Epics gps accuracy/tracking. My Palm Pre follows pretty good but there are occasional times that it puts me on a parallel road or gets a little confused driving in downtown LA where buildings block reception. As long as the Epic has somewhat equal accuracy to my Palm Pre I will be very happy with the Epic.

The Palm Pre as I know it was pretty accurate in the backwoods of Northern Ohio (where part of my family lives), the EVO was extremely accurate, and the Epic according to reviews actually does fairly well inside of buildings and outside.

From using the Captivate, I'm actually really stoked about the Epic....I actually returned my EVO because the screen had major grounding issues and wasn't as sensitive as other phones I've used. The keyboard I could live without but it's a nice feature....mainly use the phone for calls, gps, internet, and camera. As long as those things are gold then I'm sold. Still looking for a comparison on the GPS or even comments from someone who has used both.

My had grounding issues as well, but I let that problem slide, but when the camera app doesn't even open, it goes back to the store!

yeah camera issues aren't fun......another complaint I had with the EVO was the video/audio rec quality.....it was waaaay too compressed to actually enjoy and the commercials on TV are ridiculous to show a sharp clear picture streaming using QIK....."first" doesn't always mean "best"

I will be able to tell you on tuesday. I relied on my pre alot for nav and sprint nav always worked well. Google maps on the other hand worked well but were so darn slow due to being a glorified web protal and not native to the OS as it is in android. Youll be happy using google maps once on a droid as the speed of opening is SO much faster. Accuracy of google maps is yet to be seen, but it should be pretty decent (still will use sprint nav over google nav).
