epic issue: Phone says 50% time without signal when i live right next to tower

So apparently alot of people been having the issue of horrible signal and this is why, read the thread here: Samsung Epic:High time without signal (searching for... then scroll down and read my posts i am nohl75, Apparently the epic automatically searches for a wcdma instead of a cdma signal, wcdma doesnt even exist in the us let alone sprint

I actually 'dialed' *#4636*1111#, then selected CDMA Auto (PRL) from the drop-down list...seems like that solved my issues. Need to do a reboot to make sure it stays, however...

Edit: Hmmmm, I guess not. Guess I'm stuck doing the airplane mode toggle for now...

I do that too - but everytime i go back in, it goes back to wcdma - it wont stay on cdma only! it always changes itself back to WCDMA!

release? mine hasn't updated yet in chicago....still checking, but no updates!
