Erased files on sd card reappear after restarting device

I have a feeling I have a virus on the sd card or in the device. I have tried erasing all files on the sd card with the phone in "my files" or "Format SD card". When I restart the device, all the pics and music re-appear on the card. I have copied the music and pics to my laptop and even tried deleting the files there. To clarify, the files always erase until I restart the device and they come back. Every time. Ugh. Any advice how to fix ?

Welcome to Android Central! Have you tried unmounting the card (in Settings>Storage), inserting it into your computer, and using Windows Explorer to delete the files? I'm not sure if that's what you're describing.

I'm having exactly the same issue. Havent tried doing it on a PC yet, so I will try tonight and post back.
