I wish they would make it possible so that you can erase using the stylus without looking on the screen and trying to find the erase button. Either by turning it over like a pencil or clicking the button (or holding it down). This only seems like the natural thing to do, it would be a lot more productive.

I'm pretty sure you can erase by holding the button down on the side of the pen. maybe you have to turn it on in the settings?

I think they want a different way to erase. That is possible. On my Note 5, it comes up in a moveable bar across the top for screen write on, and it's a tap to access it on the Snote.

maybe it was just the note 7 where you could push the button on the side of the pen to erase. I could be wrong though I guess.

The Note 5 click on the side only brings up the air command. I never got a change for the Note 7, so I'm not sure on that.

It seems only natural to have a quick way to erase. You push the button and the snote or other options pop but if you hold it, it should erase. That's how it would work!

I still have my Note 7 Manual and I dug through it last night. There's an eraser in "Air Command" but you have to select it like an icon, then the tip becomes an eraser. The side button doesn't do it. My Wacom Tablet on my PC works the way you're talking about - I just flip the pen over and the opposite end IS an eraser. Of course, that's a pretty expensive CAD Tablet, not a pen for a phone.

The Note 5 you don't even have to click. My screen shot above shows the action memo.
This one is screen write and if the top is moved to the left, out of the way, I just tap the arrow to bring it across the screen to access the eraser.

Neither are hard to access.

Wow, I never would've thought of that on my own! What a great idea! So neat. They could put a sensor or something on the other side of the stylus so the phone would know which side was for which function.

Just double tap the screen twice.. Then it becomes an eraser.... OK just a thought.. Feeling creative why not the pen breaks in half and become bluetooth headset.. Or a simple press at the end and it becomes an old fashioned pen. Also when pulled out halfway a radio antenna for fm radio.. Or a microphone for dictating... Sorry about my indulgence.
