Eris Is great

Loving the eris

I just wish I had a few more instructions! I like to figure things out on my own but I need a little help sometimes. That's why I am grateful for this forum. Regarding battery life, I received it yesterday and I played with it for about 2 hours and it was almost drained this morning. I charged for about 1 1/2 hours this morning and it has about 1/3 battery life left after 8 hours. I haven't played with it all day but I have here and there. I don't think the battery is so bad. I'm sure I will have to charge it every night but that's ok.

This phone is so far advanced above any blackberry I can't believe it. By far the best phone I have ever had.

UI is user interface. So the Sense UI is the user interface is one of the things that makes the Eris different from the Motorola Droid and one of the reasons that you see different widgets for the Droid and then a separate category specifically for HTC that are not on the Moto Droid.

I actually spent some time looking through the User's Guide on Verizon's web site not long after I bought my Eris. That helped a great deal on little configuration things. And, you're right, this forum is great for all the detail and app-related things. Considering all the things this little phone does, I think it's relatively easy to use and fairly intuitive for the most part.

Wait until the battery gets hit with Google Navigation when 2.0 gets released. Ouch... have to recharge after driving down the block.

I have a car-charger for mine and a mount for the windshield. I can't foresee using the Google Nav for any length of time that I'm not in my car, so I don't see this as a problem at all. I bought my car charger at Best Buy for almost half what Verizon wanted at their store. Same with the windshield mount. As we say down here in SC -- I ain't buying no more stuff from the Verizon store! It's all Best Buy or similar for me!

I also take my USB cable to work and will plug it in to my PC for a while if needed. All in all, I'm very happy with it and the battery issue is not significant - just part of the price to pay for all the functionality of this phone.
