Error message when trying to receive MMS

"X sent you a message with a media type not supported by your handset:Content-Type: image/png"

This happens every time someone sends me an MMS. What can I do to avoid this error and proceed without any further issue?

Phone: Galaxy S7 (not a phone issue, I had it replaced for other reasons and still the same issue)

Welcome to Android Central. Have you installed an app capable of MMS? Do you have enough storage available on the phone?

Space isn't an issue as I have quite a bit on the phone then a memory card installed as well. The app is the default one that came with the OS titled "messages" thats a yellow icon.

The basic Messages app, on some phones, is SMS only and does not support MMS. Try Messages+ if on your phone or download an MMS app and give it a try. In this case, the SD card would make no difference to your storage.

Messages+ is a Verizon app, you didn't say which carrier you're with. Textra seems to be quite popular but overdone for me as I use SMS very little.
