Error with Android Device Manager trying to locate phone

It says it contacted it... but doesn't ring... I'm wondering if something is needed to be added to 'protected app's under battery manager?

Does anyone else have this issue?

Doesnt seem to give me an option for safe mode...

Google is suggesting this is a common problem with Android now :/
