Android Central Question

When Essential first released their unlocked ph-1 I purchased it. I used the phone for Sprint. So a year later I switched carriers and used my Essential phone with Verizon, without a hitch, everything was fine even when I received my update for Pie, then 2 days ago I received another update. At that point when I rebooted the phone I received a messaged, stating "sim card not found" also it stated the sim was not compatible with my current network. I did reach out to Essential where they stated my phone needed to be unlocked or released by Sprint, the word "unlocked" may or may not of been used by Essential. Anyway don't wish to deal with Sprint. Is there a way I can make the changes without sprints intervention.

Verizon should call Sprint and have your number released. it seems as though a setting didn't take effect when you changed carriers. Do you have any manual settings instead of default?
