Essential to have an Amazon Prime Day deal

I jumped on this deal as well. Picked up a white one too. Got it today and am working to set it up. Lots of updates to download. Seems great so far. Love the screen and the materials. Great size as well.

Mine tomorrow, pretty pumped!

$250 is a great deal for the specs you get with the Essential PH-1. Also not much risk since Amazon will issue full refund within 30 days or around 80% refund after several months.

Loved the big screen with minimal bezel, battery life, build quality and overall feel of the phone. Probably would have kept the Halo Gray if it didn't have reception issues. I could have lived with the camera and some light bleed but not missed and dropped calls.

I loved my EPs. Really good phones. I was almost tempted to grab another one, but resisted.
I wonder what this sale says about the company's future?

Many are saying this is a sort of "fire sale" where they clear out old stock and fold up, but I'm hoping they see that interest in the phone is still there and give it another go.

Yeah. That's what I was thinking too.
I really hope they reconsider and release a EP-2. Their first outing was too good not to follow up.

It is definitely a great deal, for sure. When I was in the market for a new phone, I wanted the Essential Phone but it didn't work with my carrier; so that was a disappointment. It is a gorgeous phone with a good screen size and great specs. If they do launch Essential under a different company/name, I feel like they'd just have to bump up the camera and the software a little bit and they'd have a solid contender.

I might have thought that but then Amazon kept the phone on sale after stock ran out, allowing to people backorder the phone. My guess is this is to eliminate most of the inventory but not a true "fire" sale. I suspect, with the phone being a year old, they are wanting to cut down on stock levels. With the phone being a year old, there will be even less interest in people wanting to buy the phone (other than at fire sale prices).

The good news, Essential has shown no sign that they'll stop supporting the phone. We are still getting very timely monthly updates, and the Android P beta seems to be pretty solid.

I guess eliminating existing stock is what I meant by "fire sale", maybe I don't know what the term officially means?

just bought one on impulse, seems people are happy with it now, hope I'm not sorry but didn't want to think too long and hard and lose out . . 🙄

Trust me, you're going to love the crap out of that thing. If you don't mind the lack of headphones, you're spending 250 on 600 worth of phone quality. You won't regret

I bought two! Also, the 360 camera is only $19, case $5 and headset HD $50 on the Essential website. Bought two each of those also.
