ETF assistance

My friends have 2 smartphones with T-Mobile. They want to switch to Verizon, but have 10 months left on one of their phones, with a $200 ETF. Has anyone heard of Verizon helping with the fee to get someone to switch? I have heard of some carriers doing it in the past.

I haven't heard of them doing it. Other carriers do it because they have too to get customers.
