Every time I hit this screen off button it flashes

So every time i hit the turn off the screen button, the screen flashes twice and then turns off. It is like a juke out. It is weird that it turns off the shows what you were doing and then turns off. What is happening? And how to fix?

I hate this and feel it is a glitch. Please help.

Are you on a custom rom? I know some have a setting to flash as if you were turning off an old tube tv.

No I'm stock none root. And it's not that. It's more like the screen turns off then flashes back on again (displaying the normal home screen) then finally turns off.

Try running in safe mode and see if that fixes it.

Are you using a different launcher or any screen off app? Some of them include animations that can be change in the app settings.

No I am not using any lock screen app. Just the normal stock lock screen.

Safe mode allows you to turn on the device with third-party apps disabled. Then you can easily remove all apps that may be causing a conflict or software problem.

To turn on safe mode and use it to fix app problems, follow these steps:

Turn on safe mode
Turn the device off.
Press and hold the*Power*key.
When 'Samsung Galaxy Note5' appears on the screen, release the*Power*key.Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the*Volume down*key.
Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
Safe mode*will display in the bottom left corner of the screen.
Release the*Volume down*key when you see*Safe Mode.

Okay I tried running in safe mode and the problem is still there.

I'm wondering if a factory reset will fix it but that's pretty drastic. Also I might think maybe it could be my power button. It is kind of loose and wiggles a little. Maybe it's the power button?

No...you're good. I was just wondering because sometimes when I used my screen off app, it blinks. Just was wondering if it was happening to him and he may not have realized it was the app doing it. Love the Screen off app....I use it with Nova Prime's Gestures...double tap the screen and ,screen off! :-D
