EVERYTHING you want to know about RadioShack's launch... and more.

Ky1e.YC, I'm more confused than ever, can you explain it a little more detail, and if these statements are correct?

1. You can't use $10 survey coupon on phone purchase, only accessories.
2. You can't use $20 store credit on phone purchase, only accessories.
3. You can however use both $10 and $20 together on accessories, plus 15% if you buy the accessories before 9am?
4. If you buy the accessories after 9am, there won't be 15% discount, but you can still use the $10 and $20 for accessories.
5. You can have the accessories ring up the same ticket as the phone?

Is that pretty close? please correct / add if you can, thanks!

I do my best, since that's what I got from phone with my local RS.

1. correct, $10 cannot be applied to phone purchase, but phone accessories
2. exactly, neither is $20 credit.
3. yep, I asked them twice, they were pretty sure about it.
4. 10am(central time), matter of fact. guess you still can use $30, and 10% off
5. exactly. Speaking of which, you have to be aware that, since $10 coupon is on $40 or above expense on the ticket, that means, your $50 deposit + phone purchase + accessories shopping have to be more than $230.00, then you can apply 15% or 10% discount. in another word, you can get free accessories, then use discount to phone purchase.

my suggestion is please try to contact your local store to confirm, since bp3dots mentioned that $10 coupon still not so sure yet.

I am not the primary account holder on my phone, and the primary account holder will not be able to be with me either of the first two days of launch. I have pre-ordered at RadioShack, and an employee told me that all I need to do is get myself listed as an authorized user on the account. I spoke with a Sprint rep today who said that all I need to do is know the PIN and Security question answer (both of which I do) to be able to upgrade.

Can I get some confirmation one way or another?

Thanks

I ran into this same problem (even asked the same question). Did you go to a Sprint store? I went to both, a corporate and non-corporate store and they both told me, No. All they can do was add notes to the account. FYI: Radio Shack can't read notes Sprint reps write onto the account.

I took the advice of the manager at the RS store I pre-ordered from and called Sprint's CS, and they were able to add me to the account. They just had to verify the usual info to access it (PIN, security question, etc.). I called RS back and they were able to look it up in their system and verify. Shot off another call to Sprint's CS, got a different rep, and had them read me off who was listed as authorized users, and my name was the first to come up (even though I am not the account holder, my phone is the primary line).

I would recommend to give that a shot. Don't do it through Sprint's chat though, get on the phone and talk to someone at CS. If you can walk into the store you pre-ordered from and have them verify it on their system, you shouldn't have a problem come day of launch.
