Evidence of last minute changes

Hey guys, finally recieved my Nexus 7. So far so good, but I noticed something during unboxing. It appeared as though the two stickers that held the black portion of the box shut, were at one point cut through, as though the box was opened for some reason and then taped over with a second set of stickers. I took some pics I will post in a while when I download them.

Did anyone else notice this? Is this evidence that some kind of last minute hardware change was made that could have cause a shipping delay? Or did someone just decide to play with mine and then box it back up again?

I received the same thing. It seems that Google thought we would accept previously opened boxes.

I'm having trouble finding a phone number to return the unit.

I don't purchase new products only to have gotten a refurbished unit.

What are they thinking.

If they opened it for a good reason, you put a sticker on the box with the reason and letting us know what they did. They should try and trick us!

I'm considering contact the Better Business Unit!

It could be the setting up of your account on the device? Maybe? I didn't notice duplicate stickers on my box, but I didn't really look too closely.

Holy overreaction batman! That or my sarcasm detector is broken.

They had to open ur box to pre-load your Google account... perhaps you should use some deduction before firing off? "I checked the checkbox where they preloaded my account onto my Nexus. I wonder how they got that in there? They could have opened my box and loaded it in via USB.... OR they could have used magic. I think magic is the likely answer here. I'm contacting my congressmen! WHAT WHERE THYE THINKGINGD@!"

It could also be them checking for the separated glass issue.

ahh that makes sense, they preloaded my account, okay cool :) One problem though, mine isn't playing any sound. As far as I can tell the sound is turned on but I get nothing. :( Now what?

It doesn't mean they refurbished or even touched your unit. Were there also double stickers on the film around the N7? Perhaps they realized they forgot to put the USB cable or something.

Looks like the same thing happened on my device. Contacting the NSA as I type. Who knows, they could have put some sort of gps tracking chip in it that records your every move!

Better get my tinfoil hat.

Dude. It's already got one of those. :) Didn't you know?

Maybe they were just quality testing some because of all these defective unit issues? Maybe if it hadn't been resealed you would have gotten a defective one? Don't overreact.

No they did not need to open box to load my account. They said they do this with the serial number when you attempt to log on the first time.

If they did, then tell me how they got my password to log on?
