EVO 3D - GPS Issue: A Known Issue to Sprint

Friday, Sprint Store replaced my 3D for this reason. Went to San Francisco Sat/Sun and same gps problems, losing gps, wrong directions and diving around just to catch up before gps got lost again. Not fun I tell you.

Ok, so i got my evo 3d about three weeks ago. and the GPS, Navigation, etc. worked like a charm!
I get quick fixes, the location is accurate and worked as good on both highways and somewhat busy cities like Stamford, CT (for example).
Now, recently, I was driving my normal routing across states on I-95, and suddenly the GPS signal started to get lost, and when it fixes completely (that is, 8/8 birds), the current location (with no blue circle around) shows me to be 100-150 feet off the road i am on. So imagine driving 75+ on a highway, when your Navi thinks you are on some side roads or no roads at all and tries to navigate you back on the highway.
What I did - hard reset, GPS Status/Test, etc., ##GPSCLRX##, reverted back to Old Google Maps, installed Navigon, tried using TeleNav and Google Maps, ALL OF THEM show me as being 100-150 feet away from my actual location!
did anyone have similar problems?

p.s. I drove exactly same route two weeks ago, and the Google Nav was working perfectly fine.

I'm noticing that too. Sometimes the same route will see 10 satellites and use 10. Other times 1-2 satellites and use both. Also, once in a while I can't see a satellite at all.

I experienced the same issue. One day I was driving and it was showing me moving on a street a few blocks away. I did: reboot, took out the battery, uninstall most apps, ##GPSCLRX##, etc...It helps a bit..but i still get a circle around the arrow on Google Map and Nav don't feel as responsive. I called sprint and here were my results:

1. Online tech support: basic support person reading the script...update PRL .....Warm Boot....etc...etc...didnt have anything to do with GPS.

2. Sprint Store #1: "You can use Sprint's Telenav or call Google about Google Map problem." << woah...that is insulting...

3. Sprint Store #2: Did whatever in the back for 2 hrs and came back...."It's a known issue...they will release the software update."

Too bad it just barely pasted the 30 day return mark. They won't swap me another phone. I'm sooo mad right now that I'm thinking of switching carrier.

I guess I'm lucky, sounds like a couple others on this thread too, gps has been great, use it all the time. never had a need to count satellites.
not that this is related, played with it on a whale watching boat.. by the way, google nav won't display swimming directions. I was a little surprised it didn't give me a straight line to the nearest road :p
The only thing my old phone/gps units did better was voice options for accents/languages, that was fun.
