I know that verizon just got the thunderbolt but this is what makes me mad,
They put the dual core in a phone that only comes out a few months later. Why not out it in the thunderbolt????? Im really hoping htc makes an evo 3d for lte and cdma on verizon. Who else agrees with me?

I don't get it either. Why would anyone plunk money down on an older technology when the newer will be released in a very short period of time. I'm not even sure there are any immediate plans for HTC to release a dual core Verizon phone. Technology wise, Verizon is behind the eight ball, and the Bionic isn't cutting it.

I want the thunderbolt but if htc makes the evo 3d to verizon like a month later that would make me so mad

just like the iPhone4 on VZW with the new iphone5 being released this summer enjoy the Tb for 2years and evo3d will be out a year later on VZW

It ain't happening folks. The Evo and all of its derivatives are exclusive to Sprint so don't expect it on any other network.

it will just be a different name evo thunderbolt are the same with newbies innards

Only in the fact that the Thunderbolt bares its lineage with the Inspire/Desire HD.

Verizon's HTC counterpart to the Evo was the Incredible (albeit in a smaller package) and with the Incredible 2 on the way the same will apply.

the evo / thunderbolt comparison is getting old.

i agree that the incredible was evo's counterpart but the inc2 is nothing like the evo 3d. i picked the incredible over the evo because the evo had screen lift and light leak issues plus it was just to big to hold in one hand and navigate. plus the incredible has a much better screen.

the 3d at least is a little narrower so it should be easier to hold on to and the screen is much improved. will probably end up getting this one as long as the bootloader isn't locked like inc2.

Surely verizons going to have an answer to this evo 3D the bionic is coming out and i bet they are pressuring HTC to give them a dual core phone but its okay sprint subscribers be happy for now

Ok how can explain this...

Carriers often request certain designs/features from manufacturers. Sometimes (like with the ECHO if I were to guess) the manufacturer goes to the carrier with something.

Sprint is in a position that they can (and need to) take greater risks with what phones they carry. I don't think the EVO 3D will be a flop at all, but Verizon doesn't need something like that to compete. They aren't going to lose a ton of subscribers because of the EVO 3D.

No, you can't run the EVO 3D on Verizon so stop asking.

This isn't the place to compare the thunderbolt to the EVO/EVO 3D/Dinc or anything else. We have a section for that (and the Thunderbolt isn't based on the EVO 3D or vice versa at all).

If you want to take issue with what Verizon is/isn't carrying then go to the Verizon section and discuss it there.

I disagree. They are all based on each other with slight tweaks. Form factor looks a lot like the rest of the HTC phones, and more or less, sense is the same. Sure, it's slightly taller and thinner, but to say they aren't based on each other is..meh, very arguable.

If that's the case then all slab phones are based on each other with slight tweaks. And I could argue that they are all based on the Iphone since that started the all touchscreen smartphone design.

Sense is mostly the same, yes, but the phones don't share any major internal parts. Even the screen is a different resolution.

Normally I wouldn't present these points but to say all HTC phones are based on each other isn't accurate. If they lack a physical keyboard of course they are gonna share some physical traits. You can only change a slab phones looks so many times before you run out of ways to differentiate them.

Didn't HTC start the all touch screen phones with Windows Mobile? I had one, it came with a stylus.

Anyway, I agree with what you say. I didn't mean they share the same parts, it can't improve internally if it did, but physically, they are all very very similar.

Yes technically they did. But general credit for the touchscreen smartphone boom is given to the iphone.

Every device manufacturer has a "look" for lack of a better word. Look at Samung with the Galaxy S line, which is admittedly supposed to look alike. Motorola has a general feel (based on carrier). HTC does too, based on region kinda.

I guess my point is that every manufacturer has a design language so appearance wise I wouldn't expect much deviation from that.

i love my evo 3d but sprint is TERRIBLE coverage. there's no sense in having such a powerful phone when the 3g is crawling all over the country for sprint. it's seriously ridiculous.

i would get the bionic for verizon but i hate motorola's skin over android... i love htc sense much much more, i had a photon for sprint and i took it back and traded it for the evo 3d just because i couldn't stand motorola's skin. so lame, htc makes it so much easier for managing social networks and linking contacts and the like.

i want a dual core htc phone on verizon! i'm thinking about contacting verizon and seeing if i can get some under-the-table deal with getting my rooted/s-offed 3d set up on a verizon contract because i could give a crap less about sprint's unlimited data plan when the data moves at the speed of smell out here by fort bragg. no one has 4g out here except verizon, and sprint's 3g is complete, terrible garbage

I really think it depends on where you live. I am about 10 miles outside of Nashville, TN, and Sprint and Verizon are equal here. In fact, I receive better Wimax 4G coverage in my home than my very good friend, Jen, who works for Verizon and has been trying to get me to switch, receives LTE. She actually has to go outside to get LTE when she is at my house. The best thing to do is go with the carrier who has the best service at the best price in your area.
