Evo 4G Cases and Accessories Thread

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to start a thread on Evo cases/products in general. There are a lot of threads/posts on Evo accessories and it is sometimes difficult to find what you are looking for.

Below is what I have gathered throughout the couple months I have been visiting this forum as well as what I have collected outside the forum.

Case and accessory retailers/manufacturers that currently sell products for the EVO:

Sprint - Accessories Select Model - New Header Template

seidioonline.com

GelaSkins | HTC EVO 4G

HTC EVO 4G Accessories

Mobile Devices Suede Jacket Cases - HTC EVO -

Case and accessory retailers/manufacturers that will be making/selling products for the EVO:

HTC EVO Cases, Covers, Skins by Case-mate

HTC Cases // OtterBox.com

Case and accessory retailers/manufacturers that currently do not make/sell products for the EVO and have not announced they will, but wish they did:

Sena Cases - Designer Leather Cases : BlackBerry case, iPhone case, Treo case, iPod Touch case, and other PDA cases (their ULTRASLIM pouch fits the Evo okay)

More-Thing.com

ColorWare

http://www.myincipio.com/

I submitted this to Case-mate in hopes of them offering the Artist Series Cases for our Evo.
The Artist Series Cases for the Evo 4G

There are a lot of case manufactures that make cases for our beloved Evo, but with a very limited selection(if at all). If we organize our desires/requests and express this to these manufacturers, we will have more of an impact to achieve the desired outcome. So if you have a specific case that you would like to see made and sold, post it here and others that like your idea can campaign to get that case made(like thejamesjr did here http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc-evo-4g/18975-htc-evo-4g-fuel-lite-battery-extender-case.html).

If you have any more links to add, please post them and I will try to add them to the initial post.

My trials and tribulations getting a case.

The first one was the Black Silicon Gel case from Sprint. I was unhappy with it as it was kind of loose and also way to "grippy". It was tough getting in and out of my pocket. I gave it to a girl friend.

The second was the Body Glove case. It looked decent but really made my phone feel like a brick. I had to take it apart to pop the battery at one point. It broke. That front piece is way too flimsy.

I then was very careful with the phone so it wouldn't sratch. The camera lens scratched up within a few days just from being in my pocket (with nothing else in there).

I just got the Rocketfish from Best Buy. I like the smooth rubber. The fit is very tight and good. The issue with this case is that the power and volumes buttons are almost impossible to use within the case. It's going back to Best Buy today.

Anyone have a good choice for me? I tend to prefer the gel cases vs. the hard.

Ummm...

Is there any reason not to support Android Central? They have a ton of cases and the prices are always great. And they give us this forum.

I am loving the Seidio Innocase II Surface for Sprint HTC Evo 4G.

The Innocase is just 1 mm thick, fits perfectly, and is much easier to grip. It keeps the phone from laying on it's camera lens or front glass when you set it down.

Exactly! Support the place that gives you the 411 on everything DRRROOOIDD!!

Speaking of accessories, where the hell is the charging/hdmi dock? I remember seeing the description cards show up in sprints store for a case with hidden charging capability along with the dock and one other accessory I forget but now they're gone. Anyone have any insight on these?

Thanks for redirecting us, but I think the OP meant to have a variety of places posted to order from...the store on this android central is a given... I'm pretty sure we will all check this site first!

I know what you mean about the Rocketfish skin, but believe me, it breaks in eventually. I have had mine for about a week and a half and the buttons are a lot easier to press. Give it a chance. It is the best feeling skin I have ever owned.

I really like the Body Glove case. Smooth on the sides for easy pocketing, rubberized back, thin but raised enough to protect the camera lens.

Unfortunately, I've now had TWO break on me with the thin piece of plastic right by the volume controls (one 2 days after getting my Evo). Sprint replaced the first... hopefully they'll refund me the price when I get into a store next week.

I'm curious about the new Innocase Active. I've seen lack-luster reviews of the Innocase II. Anyone have one, or are they still on pre-order?

Thanks for the info. I wonder how it compares to the Amzer Argyle case that people have been talking about. They seem very similar except Amzer has three holes in the back instead of one which I kind of like.

I've learned my lesson buying "high end" cases such as Vaja. I bought one for the Pre last year cuz I got a lil too excited. Now it's paper weight :( This time I got a Seidio. I'll be sticking with this brand if im gonna be upgrading every year.

You're so right! I had one that I bought for a BB 8310 a couple of years ago and didn't even keep it on and use it. I spent all that money for nothing. I have a question though, I have several Seidio products for other cell phones and I even bought the Best Buy branded one for my EVO but I took it back because it scuffed the sides of my Evo a little. Have you had this issue or did I create the scratching buy removing it wrong?

I have had a platinum gun gray case for about 2 weeks. I took it off yesterday, just playing around. Damn did the EVO look and feel good without the case. I think i will take my chances and go naked when not at work. The cases just fattern the phone. I may return the case to BB

Ihad the Body Glove and returned it. Bad fit and flimsy and just kinda bleh IMO.
Took one of the Sprint Rubber bumpers then to hold me over till my Sedio Active gets here.

I much prefer the feel of the phone without anything at all. Funny how you forget the size until you have it out of the case again. makes it feel tiny. lol
